BAC Water Overview

BAC Water is sterile water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol. It is the standard multi-use diluent used to reconstitute lyophilized (freeze-dried) research peptides, allowing a vial to be accessed repeatedly in the laboratory.

Purpose — Reconstitution

Most research peptides are supplied as a lyophilized powder that must be dissolved before use. BAC Water is added to the vial to reconstitute the peptide into a stable working solution for laboratory study.

Bacteriostatic Mechanism

The 0.9% benzyl alcohol acts as a bacteriostatic preservative — it inhibits the growth of bacteria in the solution. This distinguishes it from plain sterile water and allows a reconstituted vial to be used multiple times while limiting microbial contamination.
